The Minnesota Nordic Ski Club strives to provide University of Minnesota students with a convenient and inexpensive opportunity to pursue cross-country skiing both competitively and recreationally.
Starting the first week of spring semester, the team holds daily on-snow practices at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis and competes in several regional races, including the Noquemanon Ski Marathon, Mt. Ashwabay Summit Ski Race, Vasaloppet USA, American Birkebeiner, and MSCA Regional Championships in Rhinelander, WI. Each January, the team takes a week-long training and recreational trip to Cable-Hayward, Wisconsin to ski on the American Birkebeiner trails. Attendance at practices, trips, and races are optional, and skiers of all ability levels are welcome.
During summer break and the fall semester, the team holds informal dryland training practices, as well as a weekly game of ultimate frisbee at East River Flats Park on campus. Check out our Trips and Events page for everything else we do as a team!
